What is a domain name?
A domain name is your website’s address on the internet, such as yourbusiness.co.uk. It’s what people type into their browser to find you online. Your email usually runs on it too, so if a domain lapses your email stops working along with the website — which is why we keep such a close eye on renewals.
How do I choose the right domain name?
Short, easy to spell, and obvious when said down the phone — that’s the test we use. A .co.uk suits UK-focused businesses; a .com if you trade further afield. And if the name you want is already taken, ask us anyway. We’ve prised plenty of good domains away from squatters.
Do I need to renew my domain name?
Yes. Domain names are registered for a fixed period, usually one to ten years. If you don’t renew it before expiry, you risk losing it, which could impact your website and email services.
Who manages the DNS for my domain?
We do. Domains we manage sit on Cloudflare DNS, which puts extra speed and security in front of your website at no additional cost. If you need a record adding or changing, ring or email us and we’ll get it sorted, usually the same day.
